Course Descriptions
PADI Discover Diving
By taking a Discover Scuba course with Aquanauts Dive Center, non-divers can
try out scuba diving without committing time to a full certification course.
PADI Open Water
Dive into the PADI Open Water Diver course, the most popular diving course in
the world. The Open Water Diver certification is one the first levels of PADI
certification, your ticket to exciting adventure in the underwater world. This course
includes academics, skill practice in confined water and scuba diving in open water, all
under the supervision and guidance of your PADI instructor.
PADI Referral Program
Aquanauts Dive Center will help you complete your diver certification through
the PADI referral program. Do the class work and pool sessions at home and bring us a
referral letter from any recognized certification agency. The process takes as little as
two days while on your vacation to complete your Open Water Certification.
Advanced Open Water
Your chance to sample some of diving's most popular specialties and expand your
diving skills. The two core dives are under water navigation and deep diving. Three
additional elective dives may include boat diving, drift diving, multilevel diving, or
wreck diving. PADI Advanced Open Water certification may be completed in as little as two
days.
Specialties
Night Diver
Experience the different world of night diving and
see the marine life that hides during the daytime. The Night Diver Specialty course
includes a classroom session and three night dives. Let the NIGHT show begin!
Wreck Diver
This course teaches the techniques of wreck diving,
including observations and evaluations, fining techniques, use of reels, lines and
emergency procedures. Classroom sessions prepare you for the four open water dives. A tour
of the CEDAM Museum of Underwater Archeology is included in the course.
Cavern Diver
The course includes four cavern dives and one open
water dive over three days. The program focuses on planning, emergency procedures,
buoyancy control, propulsion techniques, line usage with special emphasis on the unique
environment.
Multilevel Specialty
Use a dive computer to make longer and safer dives.
Peak performance buoyancy pivoting, hovering and cruising on the reefs is practiced during
your course. Classroom discussions, pool training and two open water training improve your
buoyancy control, air consumption and diving comfort.
Deep Diver
Learn how tissue saturation and nitrogen absorption
can affect your diving, how to optimize your air consumption and decrease your risk on
dives below 60 feet. The course includes four open water dives.
Medic First Aid
For both divers and non-divers! This revolutionary six to eight hour
classroom course teaches CPR and first aid. Medic First Aid provides hands on training in
simple first aid techniques and fulfills the First Aid and CPR requirements for all PADI
courses and for the US Coast Guard Captains License.
Divemaster
The Divemaster Certification is your first step on the path to becoming a
diving professional. If you are interested in becoming a more competent diver the
Divemaster course will hone your skills and expand your knowledge of diving. Divemaster
training develops your diving leadership abilities by expanding your knowledge to a
professional level, and by training you to supervise diving activities and assist with
divers in training.
Assistant Instructor
PADI Assistant Instructor training gives you an opportunity to gain actual
teaching experience and is a invaluable part of preparation for becoming a PADI Open Water
Instructor. You will learn to give PADI academic, confined and open water presentations
and learn the PADI system of diver education. The Assistant Instructor Course also counts
as credit towards our Instructor Development Course.
IDC
The PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) teaches you how to teach the PADI
system of continuing education in the classroom, confined water (pool), and open water.
During our 7 day training program you will learn how to plan and organize all of the PADI
training materials so that you may become a successful instructor. Our Course Directors,
Len Bucko and Pam Strother, have over 40 years experience as scuba diving trainers. The
goal of our course is to get you ready to teach in the real world, not just pass the
Instructor Exam (I.E.).
Len, Pam and the staff of highly qualified instructors will share valuable information
with you on how to teach scuba diving, and you will have practice training sessions to
fine tune your skills. We will also develop your diving knowledge with over 22 required
classroom training sessions in our convenient classrooms. The final portion of your IDC
will be conducted in the ocean to prepare you for the Instructor Exam and Open Water Real
World situations.

providing PADI programs exclusively, which means traveling divers can get anything from
snorkeling experienced to advanced certifications and PADI Instructor training.
Master SCUBA Diver
Keep your divers active and interested! Specialties can be the most fun and
lucrative courses to teach. Our Specialty Instructor Course include role model
demonstrations of the classroom sessions and dives using PADI pre-approved outlines.
Individual Specialties take 1 to 2 days. According to PADI Standards, by taking a
Specialty Instructor Course you will be able to begin teaching the specialty immediately.
Get a jump on the rest of the Instructor field with this fast paced and exciting way to
earn more money and make yourself more marketable in the dive industry.
IDC Specialties
The IDC Staff Instructor course provides a Master SCUBA Diver Trainer with the
additional training necessary to staff PADI Instructor Development Courses. The IDC Staff
Instructor course is conducted over 10 days during one of our regularly scheduled
Instructor Development Courses. As a qualified IDC Staff Instructor you will be certified
to teach PADI Assistant Instructor courses and assist in Instructor training. Topics
covered are the same as an Instructor Development Course plus additional training in
academic, confined water and open water evaluations. Personal diving skills are also
brought up to Instructor Development Course demonstration quality.
All Prices Are Fully Inclusive Of Taxes, Rebreather Hire, Boat/Cenote Fees, and
Gas. We conduct small and individual classes with a personal atmosphere to assure a
positive learning experience.
Rental Equipment
Divers can rent a BC, a Regulator or Snorkeling Equipment. In
fact, All equipment required for any dive can be rented from the Aquanaut Dive Center
shop.
Accommodations and Transportation
We offer accommodations at the
Casa
Casibe Villa. Transportation to and from the airport can be arranged. Packages
including diving, accommodation and transportation are also available. We accept Visa and
