We are in a prime location for daily cavern tours, providing a unique guided experience not to be missed by the certified diver. All that is required is an open water certification

Guided Cave Dives

Aquanauts Dive Center offers regularly scheduled dives in nearby local caverns or "cenotes" including Cenote Eden, Carwash, Temple of Doom and Grand Cenote. These "cenotes' are freshwater sink-holes opening up to underground flooded caverns that are highly decorated with stalactites, stalagmites and flowstones. They offer spectacular diving in a unique environment.

Cavern Diving

is available for ALL open water certified divers (Certification cards required) with reasonable experience and good buoyancy control. All our cavern dives are guided by NACD (National Association for Cave Diving) Full Cave Certified guides with extensive experience in our local underwater caverns. While guiding cavern tours, our guides use standard technical cave equipment, including a powerful primary light and line reels. They adhere to all cavern diving safety standards: a continuous guideline, a ratio of 4 divers per guide, a maximum depth of 70ft and penetration limited to 200ft from surface light.

One of the reasons this area is considered the best in the world is because of the immense size of the underwater rooms. At no time will your tour take you into a restricted area of the cavern. Before setting out on your first cavern dive, you will be given an extensive briefing on overhead environment diving that includes fining technique, light use, buoyancy control tips and air rules. Let our experienced cavern guides introduce you to this fascinating new world.

Aquanauts Dive Center offers a unique deep diving experience program that allows you to explore the deep cenotes or sink holes of the Yucatan as well as the walls along the coast. The underwater caves with breathtaking formations and light shows, the colorful coral reefs in front of Puerto Aventuras and the submerged coral walls in the cobalt blue water just off the coast make the area of the Yucatan Peninsula one of the best and warmest technical diving areas.

Dive into history

See Maya sacrificial pots or drift dive along Cozumel's famous reef system. The prerequisites are an open water certification with reasonable experience and a love of adventure to explore the beauty of history and nature. Part of the deep diving program is to refresh dive theory and the use of dive computers, to give an overview about Maya lifestyles and beliefs surrounding "cenotes", how such "cenotes" were formed and to give you an insight into technical diving.

Sacrificial Maya Cenote

A large cenote located deep in the jungle allows us to share Maya history with other divers. Century old Maya sacrificial pots are located at a depth of 145 feet. With our technical staff you can dive safely and enjoy this once in a life time opportunity to see history firsthand. Briefing on safety procedures and guidelines including techniques and air rules included. Dives include all equipment, dive light, transportation to and from dive sites and entry fees.
